Robert Maynard Hutchins Award
The Robert Maynard Hutchins (RMH) Award is given annually to someone who has shown courage in
standing up for academic integrity in the face of commercialized college sports. Past recipients of the RMH
Award are Jan Kemp (2004), Tiffany Mayne (2005), Frank Splitt (2006), Linda Bensel-Meyers (2007),
James Gundlach (2008), and Jon Ericson (2009).
The Drake Group is proud to announce Sally Dear-Healey, Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Sociology
at Binghamton University (BU), as the 2010 recipient of the RMH Award. Dear-Healey is recognized for
exposing the pressures she faced to give preferential treatment to basketball players for attendance and
grades while teaching in the Department of Human Development at BU.
RMH Luncheon
Where: Magnolia Lounge at The Friday Center, Chapel Hill, NC
When: Friday, April 23rd - 12pm to 1:30pm
Attendees must register and pay in advance for the luncheon. You can register for the luncheon and select
your meal choice by completing the form below. Luncheon choices:
Almond Encrusted Chicken Breast - Roasted and drizzled with Mint Honey. Includes appropriate
Vegetable and Starch, Homemade Bread, choice of Dessert, and Iced Tea, Coffee, and Water.
Spinach Ravioli - Five al dente Spinach-Striped Ravioli perched in a freshly made Sun-dried Tomato
Cream Sauce, finished with Fresh Basil Chiffonade. Includes appropriate Vegetable, Homemade Bread,
choice of Dessert, and Iced Tea, Coffee, and Water.
The cost of the luncheon is $20 and a check payable to The Drake Group should be sent to The
Drake Group, c/o Dr. Joel Cormier, Nichols College, Center Road, PO Box 5000, Dudley, MA
01571-5000 upon registration.
