Phone Your Senators’ Offices Now to Leave This Message

Call each of your two Senators. Simply ask the person who answers the phone to record your position on S. 6448 [every office keeps a tally sheet about constituent calls on specific legislation], by delivering the following or a similar message: “I am a constituent of the Senator’s from [city] and would like to leave a message about S.6448, the Protect College Sports Act, which will be coming up for a vote before the end of this session. I am urging the Senator to oppose S.4668 unless it is amended to include a clear statement that nothing in the Act can be construed to override, modify, or amend the applicability of Title IX. This Title IX assurance is necessary because colleges and universities are not complying with Title IX when awarding new “revenue-sharing” or “NIL licensing fees” financial benefits. Eighty to 90 percent of these funds (over $1.5 billion this year) are going to football and men’s basketball players. I’m simply asking my Senator to ensure the equitable treatment of male and female athletes.”
